    Enrichment Lab Session: BrickLAB Flight, Transportation, and Food Location: Lincoln Elementary Drop Off: 8:00 AM (Door D) Pick Up: 2:00 PM (Door D) Ages: 6-10 Dates: June 5 & 7 (8 AM- 2 PM) Cost: $82 Description: The BrickLAB STEAMventures Flight, Transportation, and Food collection takes students on a journey through the skies, back to land, and then back to the dinner table to explore all things food. In this session, you’ll explore: Hot Air Balloons: Take flight with the inventors and innovators of the past and explore the science, history and engineering design behind hot air balloons. Airplanes: Investigate who invented the airplane, learn the secrets that let them fly and discover how airplanes are used today. Helicopters: Examine the unique features of helicopters and discover what makes them the perfect flying machine for search and rescue, traffic monitoring, space exploration and more. Rockets: Investigate space with early astronomers, learn about the scientists, engineers and mathematicians that make spaceflight possible and discover the secrets that let rockets fly. Boats: Thrill K-1st and 2nd-3rd graders as they speed off into the surf to combat ocean pollution as the captain of a boat. Trains: Hop aboard the transcontinental railroad to discover steam locomotives and life on the railroad. Bikes: Explore the strength of pedal-powered bicycles and zero-emission transportation. Cars: Challenge learners to check their mirrors as they investigate how engineers are designing sustainable cars and trucks for a renewable future. Gardens: Dip your trowel into the world of cultivation with a strawberry-themed deep-dive into the fruits and vegetables that grow in our gardens. Trees: Swing from the tree-tops on an adventure to learn about trees, fruits and how the chocolate we love comes from the trunk of a very special trees. Farms: Jump onto the seat of your tractor and meet the hard-working farmers and cutting-edge technologies that keep our plates pilled high with potatoes. Exploring the globe, learners discover the diversity of animal adaptations, the differences in habitats and what’s necessary for each biome’s survival through hands-on STEM activities.
